Experience the Queensferry Crossing for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland

Queensferry crossingOnce in a Life Time Experience!

On Wednesday 30th of August the much anticipated Queensferry Crossing will open its lanes to the general public. Commuters and travellers have watched for many years as Scotland’s largest infrastructure project in a generation has risen from the Firth of Forth.

Once opened, the Queensferry Crossing will be the main route connecting Fife and Edinburgh. However unlike its sister the Forth Road Bridge, the new Queensferry Crossing will have no pedestrian walkway!

But not to fear Transport Scotland has announced a unique opportunity – ‘The Queensferry Crossing Experience’, which will take place on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd September 2017.  It is a free event to celebrate the opening of the Queensferry Crossing and will offer a once in a lifetime opportunity for 50,000 people, selected by ballot, to cross the new bridge on foot before it fully opens as a Motorway.

This is where we need you! This is a fantastic and unique opportunity to support Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland! If you are successful in the ballot, you will have 1 hour to spend crossing the 1.7 mile span of the Queensferry Crossing on foot, take some amazing pictures and admire the views of the Firth of Forth whilst fundraising for charity.

Simply visit www.queensferrycrossingexperience.com where you will find more information about the event itself. From here you can enter the ballot by putting in your personal details. You will then be asked the following question:

“If you are successful in the ballot, would you want to use this opportunity to fundraise for Charity?”

Please select this and complete your application!

Ballot applications will close at noon on Wednesday 5th of July – after this date 50,000 ballot applicants will be selected at random by the event organisers and sent an email and text offering them a place.

From then, if you are successful, we ask that you use the fantastic opportunity to fundraise for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland. This once in a life time opportunity is a great way to spread the word of the charity within your community. As an independent Scottish Charity, we aim to improve the quality of life for people in Scotland after a stroke, or diagnosis of a chest or heart condition. Without your fundraising efforts we would not be able to provide advice, support and practical help to people, to get their lives back on track.

So why not enter the ballot for this amazing opportunity and walk the Queensferry Crossing while helping people who are affected by chest, heart and stroke illness.
