Get in touch with your regional fundraising advisor and get some advice and support from CHSS. We are here to help you! This is also the opportunity to order any CHSS fundraising materials you may need.
Make a simple plan of who and what will be involved in your fundraising and what resources you will need. You may need to buy or make materials so set aside plenty of time when planning your activity or event. If you need any help or guidance we are here to help.
The best way to promote your event and make your fundraising a success is to tell everyone what you are doing. You’ll be surprised how generous people can be in terms of funds, time and skills. Write to your local paper or contact your regional fundraiser to help you arrange this. You can also reach out to those people you don’t see everyday by setting up your own personal online fundraising page and sharing the link.
If you’re holding your event outdoors then be prepared for all weather conditions. If necessary, consider making a contingency plan! Most importantly have fun and enjoy your fundraising!
Collect in all the money you’ve raised and pay it in. This ensures your money can start making a difference as soon as possible. You can pay online via our donation form, over the phone or by cheque. Please make any cheques payable to ‘Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland’ and return them with our Money Return Form to your regional office.

"When I decided to challenge myself with the 500 mile walk I knew that I wanted to raise some money for charity. I am humbled by the generosity of the people who sponsored me and have raised about £5000 for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland and couldn’t believe the support available by the charity!"
- Morag
"I was overwhelmed with the support we received from the local community. CHSS is a charity very close to my heart. Without the support of my fantastic Stroke Nurse I certainly wouldn’t be where I am today. She really helped me rebuild my life after stroke."
- Ruth
"Knowing that this will be helping CHSS to support those affected by heart disease and strokes makes this journey an easy one to embark on. In 2013, my very dear aunt passed away in hospital unexpectedly due to heart and stroke complications. In 2015, my mother suffered a stroke from which she never recovered, and then in 2016 my father suffered a haemorrhagic stroke. Through hard work and support in hospital and the community, he recovered. I knew I wanted to help those affected by heart disease and stroke in some way, so as a keen touring cyclist, I set myself this challenge."
- Gordon
"Hearing how the funds will be used is amazing and has inspired me to try raise more money! Such an important charity close to my heart and with working for the ambulance service I see these illnesses every day and it inspires me even more to raise funds!"
- Gemma
"I was quite surprised by the support I got from CHSS, I never really considered it or thought you would be able to help so much. I came away with a lot more knowledge of the charity and the conditions you tackle. I got a really positive feeling about CHSS and will be happy to contribute to your collection jars whenever I see them, knowing it’s going to a great place."
- Craig
“My stroke robbed me of everything – my voice, my independence and my kids. With your help I can get them back.”
