St Andrews Caravan Park Raises Nearly £7,000 for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland

A St Andrews caravan park has raised nearly £7,000 for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS) following a charity weekend.

Cairnsmill Caravan Park’s fundraising weekend at the end of September brought the local community, holidaymakers and campers together to enjoy a race night on Friday, coffee morning and bingo across the weekend. In total £6,370 was raised.

Jen Kirkcaldy, the Entertainment and Charity Manager at the caravan park, said: “From our race night and raffle to our cake and candy tombola, the support was incredible. I’m extremely proud to announce that we raised an amazing £6,730 for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland!

“What a weekend it was, honestly, it was the best! We also played a short YouTube video about the incredible work CHSS does and it really engaged everyone in the room and reminded us all exactly why we were fundraising.

“We were completely overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity and support, and we’re so proud of what our Cairnsmill community achieved together.”

Julianne Scarlett, Fundraising Events Assistant at CHSS, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Cairnsmill Caravan Park for choosing to support CHSS and we’re thrilled to see how much the community supported the weekend.

“Community events like this play a vital role in helping us continue to support the 1 in 5 people across Scotland who are living with chest, heart, stroke conditions and Long Covid, as well as their families and carers.

“It was wonderful to see the local community get behind the event, come along and have fun while raising funds for an important cause. Every pound raised helps us provide vital advice, support services and opportunities for people with our conditions to live fuller lives.”
