We are very excited to be able to offer charity places at the iconic Great North Run; officially recognised by the Guinness World Records as the biggest half marathon in the world with an amazing atmosphere to match.
Starting in Newcastle upon Tyne on the 13th of September 2020, the 13.1 mile route takes runners through the city centre towards the River Tyne where thousands of people will cross over the famous Tyne Bridge and if you’re lucky, you might get a glimpse of the Red Arrows passing overhead.
From there, runners will travel through Gateshead while being entertained by many bands on the run. The route, lined by thousands of supporters, leads runners to South Shields where at the top of Prince Edward Road, the view of the sea is one of the most welcoming sights along the whole course.
From that point, there is just over a mile to go and the encouragement from the crowds grows as runners make their way down the final straight towards the finish gantry.
From helping stroke survivors rebuild their confidence and learn new skills to ensuring people with chronic respiratory and heart conditions find a lifeline through our vital services; we want to make sure we can reach everyone who needs us. Your immense effort and fundraising will help the charity provide a lifeline for those people in Scotland who are isolated, scared or anxious about their condition.
We offer charity places at The Great North Run and to secure your entry we ask you to make a minimum fundraising pledge of £350.
