Peer Support Groups Closed

Perthshire Stroke Peer Support Group

We have taken the difficult decision to advise our Peer Support Groups to close until further notice. People with chest, heart and stroke conditions are most at risk of developing serious coronavirus symptoms, so temporarily suspending Peer Support Groups will help keep members of these groups, and other potentially vulnerable people in Scotland’s communities safe.

We understand that Peer Support Groups are a lifeline for many people, and not being able to meet regularly may have an impact on your physical and mental wellbeing. Please be assured we are here to help in any way we can, and will reopen groups as soon as it is safe to do so. In the meantime, please stay in touch with your group’s members via phone or email (not in person) to provide each other with support. If you are feeling worried or concerned about anything, please contact our Advice Line on 0808 801 0899. Our Advice Line nurses are here to lend a friendly ear, and to help you manage your condition during this difficult time.

People are leaving hospital feeling scared and alone. You can change that.

Your donation can help people do more than just survive – you can help them really live.
