Fundraising heroes joined legendary former footballer John Harston for a round of golf

Watch the birdie! Pals Allan Jackson, Brian Millhouse and Donald Adamson hit the fairways of West Linton Golf Club with legendary former footballer John Hartson – and it was all for a very good cause.

The trio had bid an incredible £750 to play a round of golf with ex-Celtic and Wales striker John at the Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland St Andrew’s Ball last year.

All members of Kingsknowe Golf Club in Edinburgh, Brian, Allan – who is also a volunteer with CHSS – and Donald played a foursomes round with John before enjoying lunch together at the West Linton club, near Edinburgh.

Brian said: “Allan encouraged us to support CHSS by attending the St Andrew’s Ball. I’m also a former colleague of CHSS trustee Neil Francis, so I have good reasons to support CHSS. As we’re all keen golfers, we couldn’t resist bidding on the golf day with John.

“We were delighted to be able to support CHSS in this small way and want to thank John for his hospitality, his time and his banter!

“The important work CHSS does has enormous, positive impacts on individuals who are going through major, often life-changing events that affect them, their friends and their families.”

People are leaving hospital feeling scared and alone. You can change that.
