Spirits Were High at the Glenlivet 10k With Over £14k Raised to Help Change Lives Across Scotland

Over 350 runners set-off from the Glenlivet Distillery on Sunday morning (31 October) and raced their way through the stunning Cairngorm National Park at the Glenlivet 10k.

Event organisers, Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS), were delighted to be back at the ‘most beautiful run in Scotland’, welcoming hundreds of participants after a difficult 18 months with their fundraising events being cancelled or postponed.

The Glenlivet 10k last took place in April 2019, with a virtual event in 2020. This year’s race was a sell-out and over £14,000 has been raised for CHSS – and counting!

Hayley Simpson, Fundraising Manger at Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland said:

“It was absolutely fantastic to be back at the ‘most beautiful run in Scotland’, cheering on our participants and raising vital funds to make sure there’s no life half lived in Scotland!

“Despite the rain and wind, spirits were high, and the atmosphere was absolutely amazing. It was great to be able to share that with our supporters again.

“Over the difficult lockdown period, our supporters stepped up and supported us by taking on the virtual Glenlivet 10k, but it’s just fantastic to be able hold events of this size again. Every penny raised today will go towards making sure people across Scotland get the support they really need when they return home from hospital.

“A big thank you to our dedicated team of volunteers who have worked tirelessly to help make the event run smoothly and who got as wet and cold as the runners – we couldn’t do it without them!”

“We also want to say a massive thank you to The Glenlivet Distillery, G&M Whyte Catering, Mackie’s of Scotland and Deans Shortbread for all their support in making the event extra special.”
