Everyone has the right to live life to the full. After a diagnosis of a chest or heart condition or a stroke, many people experience fear and isolation and struggle with the impact on their lives. Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland won’t stand for that. The care and support we deliver every day ensures everyone can live the life they want to.
We currently have around 50 shops / community hubs across Scotland. Our shops and hubs help us raise funds so we can provide our services to the people who need us. Every one of our stores relies on a team of volunteers to help run it and support our staff. By helping out in one of our stores, you can make a difference to people and their families in Scotland who are isolated, scared or anxious about their condition.
About Your Role
This is an opportunity to undertake a satisfying and rewarding role. As part of our team of volunteers, you will help ensure compliance across the retail chain by visiting shops and completing compliance checks providing an extremely important and appreciated service to the Charity. You should have the use of your own car and hold a full driving licence for a minimum of 3 years. Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland will advise all volunteers on necessary insurance.
The role includes:
Visiting our retail shops and completing ad hoc shop audits
Verifying compliance in CHSS retail processes and procedures
Highlighting areas of concern to the Shop management team and Audit & Compliance Officer
Reporting on all visits to the Audit & Compliance Officer
Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given
An understanding of Health & Safety at work
Attention to detail
Good communication skills

All volunteers are supported by their line manager, usually the manager of the shop. CHSS will provide all necessary training about shop procedures, which will be carried out under the guidance of the Shop Manager.
