Thank You Day

Join us for Thank You Day

Stroke survivor Debbie wants you to join her and show your support for a national Thank You Day on Sunday 4th July

My name is Debbie and I had a stroke 5 years ago, when I was just 40 years old. The 27th March 2016 has become my new life start date. It’s been the most difficult journey of my life but also the most incredible, emotional, determined and best journey at the same time.

The last year, in particular, has been incredibly tough for so many people, including people like me fighting to rebuild their lives after a stroke or after diagnosis of a chest or heart condition.

But I’m thankful for so much after a terrible year.

That’s why I’m calling for a national Thank You Day to take place on 4th July 2021. Will you join me?

I’m thankful that we and our neighbours have come together as a community for the first time.

I wouldn’t have got through the last year without my work, so I’m thankful that my businesses have not only survived but thrived as online businesses.

I’m thankful that I’m still here, still healthy though maybe not quite as fit. As part of my stroke rehabilitation, I went swimming every week and I was swimming every single day until the first lockdown. I’m thankful that I’ll soon be in the pool again and getting fit.

Most of all, I’m thankful to my husband Johnny and son Finlay for always being here for me.

And I can’t wait to see all the family and friends we’ve missed this last year, especially my mum. The people we love matter so much to us, and I’m so grateful we’ve made it through this and we can all be together and hug each other at last.

Let’s say thank you

“That’s why I’m calling for a national Thank You Day to take place on 4th July 2021. Will you join me?”

As lockdown comes to an end, I think it’s time to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped us all get through this unforgettable year.

Whether it’s frontline workers and volunteers who have sacrificed so much to keep us safe, or friends, family and neighbours who have supported us through such a difficult time, it’s time to say THANK YOU!

Please show your support for a national Thank You Day on 4th July 2021 by entering your details. The more people on board, the bigger and better the celebrations will be!

Join me and show your support so on the 4th July we can have one huge party with thank you celebrations taking place up and down the country.

During my recovery, I’ve been at my lowest, cried and then given myself a shake then cried again. For everyone who didn’t get the chance, for everyone that has been robbed and ruined by stroke – I’m grabbing it with both hands and I’m not letting it go. I’m a survivor and proud.

I have so much to look forward to, and that’s because of the support of people like you. Thank you.
