Every Slide Changes Lives

Michael, two strokes survivor, found support and help after his strokes with Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland

“I didn’t think strokes happened to people as young and as fit as me.”

Every slide helps fund life-changing support for people living with chest, heart and stroke conditions across Scotland.

You will be making sure no life is half lived. Michael, who had two strokes at 30 years old, was able to get support from one of our community groups and find a helping hand for his stroke recovery.

“It came out of the blue. Suddenly I lost all feeling in my legs and right arm. My speech went. My vision went.”
“I was out of hospital but unable to do anything for myself, which took a mental toll. Unable to leave the house on my own, I felt trapped and helpless, despite the support of family and friends. It’s hard to describe what I was going through. Nothing can prepare you for how hard recovery after stroke is.”
“I want all stroke survivors, no matter their age, to know they can recover and get back to work or to doing what they love. But we need to see it to achieve it. Having support from Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland made all the difference to me.”

So, are you ready to take the leap and help make sure no life is half lived?
