Loch Ness 24

Saturday 26 – Sunday 27 August 2023

Take on the ultimate endurance challenge and clock up as many 7km laps as you can along the most spectacular trails through ancient Scots pine forest and along the beaches of Loch Ness.

The Loch Ness 24 is an epic 24hr solo or team relay trail running race on the banks of the world’s most famous Loch. Take a break anytime you need, soak up the camaraderie at the event village and camp out under the stars in the most iconic location.

The aim of the game is to complete as many laps as you can in 24hrs. The solo participant or team in each team size category with the most laps wins! Breaks can be taken between laps so it’s up to you to work out the best strategy to maximise your laps and distance covered.

Push yourself with this epic challenge and raise vital funds to make sure the 1 in 5 people in Scotland living with chest, heart and stroke conditions get the support they need to live life to the full.

Be a fundraising hero

By taking on the Loch Ness 24, you’re doing something amazing!

Charity places for the event are free and we’re asking all our fundraising heroes to promise to raise at least £175 in sponsorship. We will provide all the support you need to help you meet and beat your fundraising goal.

Every penny you raise will go towards helping someone in Scotland rebuild their life and get back to doing the things that matter to them when they return home from hospital with a chest, heart or stroke condition.

You’ll be helping people like Nancy. Nancy is a wife and a mother, and stroke has hit her family twice.

“Because of you, stroke survivors like me and my family can get the help we so desperately need.”

After supporting her husband Kevin to recover from a life-changing stroke, little did Nancy think she would have to fight her own battle just three years later.

“Stroke took away my voice and my love of reading and writing. I could never have imagined suddenly losing the ability to read or write. And when it happened to me, I felt so lost.

“When I got home from hospital, I didn’t know where to turn. I couldn’t speak properly, and my biggest fear was that I would never be able to get the words out again.

“Then I got a call from Hazel at Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland. That call was a lifeline.

“I joined Hazel’s online support group and she introduced me to a volunteer called Sam who has been amazing.

“Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland were there for me and helped me find my way back to the person I was before the stroke.”

By fundraising at the Loch Ness 24, you’ll be helping to fund our vital support services so more stroke survivors like Nancy can get the help they desperately need to live their lives to the full.
