Charity Golf Day

Friday 26 August 2022

Cawder Golf Club

Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances, this event has been postponed. We are hoping to arrange a new date as soon as possible, so please do check back soon!

Are you the best golfer you know by par? Assemble a tee-rific team and join us for an incredible day of golfing at Cawder Golf Club on the outskirts of Glasgow.

Go head-to-head with the other teams in a shotgun start, with all teams teeing off from different holes at the same time. Then enjoy a spectacular round of golf, making your way to the finish line (or should that be finish green?) with the best score possible!

Enjoy an un-fore-gettable day at one of Scotland’s most beautiful golf courses, with lots of challenges and extra surprises along the way. You’ll be welcomed with coffee and breakfast rolls before teeing off for your challenge, then you’ll enjoy a delicious two-course lunch at the club house. There will also be an auction and a raffle with some fantastic prizes up for grabs, and you’ll get to hear from golf pros at the club too.

Designed by the five-time British Open Champion and renowned golf architect James Braid, Cawder’s Championship course is well known for its exceptional putting surfaces, stunning views of the Campsies, and its very own “Amen Corner”.

So what are you waiting for? It’s time to get your team of four together and sign up now – places are limited so don’t miss out. No ifs, ands or putts!

You’ll be helping people like Neil

“Stroke was the worst thing that’s ever happened to me and my family.”

Neil had a stroke when he was only 41 years old. One day he was the chief executive of a web company, the next he couldn’t speak or move from his bed.

“Stroke was the worst thing that’s ever happened to me and my family. I had to leave my job and I still have permanent brain damage 14 years on,” he explains.

“I didn’t know what to do or how I would survive but that’s when golf came into my life.”

Neil’s wife suggested caddying as a way to meet people and keep fit, so he gave it a try.

“And I’m so glad I did. It helped me find the confidence to use this awful thing that had happened to me to do something good.

“And that’s how I became involved with Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland – a wonderful charity that helps survivors like me.”

Every day, people across Scotland have their lives turned upside down after a stroke, heart or chest condition.

By taking part in our Charity Golf Day, you can help raise money to make sure people like Neil get the support they really need to live life to the full.

Neil says: “From one golfer to another, please help other survivors like me so that no one has to recover alone.”
