It's so easy - the step by step guide to fundraising
Step one – Choose your fundraising idea
Pick an event or activity you would like to do to raise money for CHSS. If you don’t know what you want to do, then let us help you decide. For fundraising ideas check out our Guide to Fundraising or phone your regional fundraising advisor.
Step two – Let us know what you are doing
Get in touch with your regional fundraising advisor to get some advice and support from CHSS. We are here to help you! Alternatively fill out the About My Fundraising form to register and to order any CHSS fundraising materials you may need. (please download the pdf file to your computer, fill it out, save it and email it back to us - at one of the email addresses here)
Step three – Preparation
Make a simple plan of who and what will be involved in your fundraising and what resources you will need. You may need to buy or make materials so set aside plenty of time when planning your activity or event. If you haven’t already done so download or order our Guide to Fundraising for lots of hints and tips to help maximise your fundraising while keeping safe and legal.
Step four – Tell everyone!
The best way to make your fundraising a success is to tell everyone what you are doing. You’ll be surprised how generous people can be both in terms of funds, time and skills. Write to your local paper or contact us to help you arrange this. You can also reach out to those people you don’t see everyday via email through setting up your own personal online fundraising page here.
Step five – Hold your event or complete your activity
If you’re holding your event outdoors then be prepared for all weather conditions, if necessary consider making a contingency plan! Most importantly have fun and enjoy your fundraising!
Step six – Collect in your fundraising money and send it in
Collect in all the money you’ve raised and pay it in (ideally within 2-3 months of the completion of your fundraising event/activity). This ensures your money can start making a difference as soon as possible. Please make any cheques payable to ‘Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland’ and return them with our Money Return Form to your regional office. Alternatively you can also pay online or over the phone by calling 0300 1212 444.
