In line with recommendations of the revised MRC guidance on complex interventions, this pilot represents the first step in informing the method and design of a main study; the principal aim of which will identify factors that impact on employment practices in order to develop an intervention designed to improve the employment prospects of people with COPD by: enhancing their resistance to stress; improving health and wellbeing, and promoting effective functioning in the workplace.
