A huge amount of resources are put into stroke research and it is ethically and morally right that these resources are directed at what is agreed to be of greatest importance. However, there are a number of challenges in terms of clarifying which research questions are of greatest priority to stroke nursing. The aim of the research is to identify the stroke nursing research priorities that are valued by patients and carers and could be used to inform the prioritisation and funding of future stroke research undertaken by nurses.
