An investigating exploring the in-patient and out-patient experiences of physiotherapy in individuals who have sustained a CVA during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Location: Online interview over Zoom or can be conducted in person.

Recruitment criteria:

Inclusion:

  • Individuals diagnosed with stroke during the period [March 2020- June 2021]
  • Individuals able to use and access a computer Individuals able to understand and speak English
  • Able to give informed consent

Exclusion:

  • Under 18 years
  • Unable to understand and speak English
  • Diagnosed with a TIA
  • Sustained a stroke before March 2020

The aim of the research is to provide an in-depth knowledge of the physiotherapy experience stroke survivors had during the pandemic to gain valuable information about the stroke care and management individuals received during times of uncertainty and increased pressures on services to perform with reduced resources. This purpose of the project is to ultimately inform future practise and guide future research in stroke populations and stroke services.
