Charity Community Hub Opening in Grangemouth!

Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS) is getting set to open a brand new Community Hub in Grangemouth that couples charity retailing with community space and aims to reach further into the local community.

The Community Hub at 1A York Square is set to open its doors on Thursday 9th November at 11:30am, with Councillor Allyson Black cutting the ribbon at the opening ceremony.

The new space at consists of a discount store, a community coffee corner, offering free tea, coffee and Wi-Fi as well as a community room which is available to use free of charge. The discount store will boast a great collection of clothes at affordable prices, along with the charity’s best-selling range of Scottish themed cards and diaries.

CHSS Director of Retailing, Jay Hogarty explained, “This Hub represents an innovation in charity retailing and adds to our hugely successful chain of unique charity stores.  We are developing the Community Hub so that we can offer Grangemouth a place that delivers real benefit to the people living there.”

“We aim to have a bigger presence in the town centre giving people information, access to our services; a community space and a social area to catch up and grab a bargain!”

All items in the shop have been donated to CHSS and all the profits help to provide support for people as they get their lives back on track following a stroke or diagnosis of a chest or heart condition.

“Volunteering is always in style and you can become part of a lively team in the store, with plenty of customers to chat to, stock to organise and windows to dress. It’s a really exciting time to join the team as we grow and develop within Grangemouth. As a volunteer you can gain new skills, build new friendships, broaden your experiences and open up the door to new possibilities!”
