20 credit module for nurses and other health professionals who would like to develop their interest, skills and knowledge of working with older people within a range of settings and health issues.
The programme, from the University of the West of Scotland, has been developed to provide a focussed, credit bearing qualification in working with people with a respiratory disorder.
It offers an opportunity to develop specialised knowledge about the needs of people with a respiratory disorder in a variety of settings.

This course provides an understanding of the context of self management, different models of self management and the integration of self management into contemporary health and social care practice.
The course is credited with 20 masters level points and can be taken as continuing professional development (CPD) or combined to contribute towards the MSc Advanced Practice in Health Care, with named award if desired.

Respiratory Education UK (REUK) is a non-profit making national registered educational charity. They offer a portfolio of multi-professional respiratory programmes, courses and events.
Education for Health are now responsible for the National Respiratory Training Centre (NRT). Education for Health offer a wide portfolio of training courses, eLearning and interactive workshops across the long term conditions portfolio. These cover respiratory topics such as Asthma, COPD, Spirometry and Allergy, as well as a full range of other Long Term Conditions modules such as Heart Failure, Diabetes and Hypertension.
SARA provides a portfolio of education and training for clinicians, nurses and other allied health professionals in primary, secondary and tertiary care, as well as the pharmaceutical industry, schools, the catering industry, policymakers, academics and patients/parents across Scotland.
They offer courses, resource material and webcasts from previous courses. Many of the courses are free for Nurses and Allied Health Professionals, with a nominal fee for GPs/clinicians.
The training/education will be led by staff from the Allergy and Respiratory Research Group at the University of Edinburgh and will include healthcare professionals from across the UK.
