Training and education

“Working in partnership with CHSS in developing and delivering the stroke education programmes has been a positive experience. Without a doubt the training provided by CHSS has enhanced the delivery of care”
Stroke MCN Lead Clinician

Education and training are taking on an increasingly important role forĀ Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS), not only in activities geared towards prevention but also in the improvement of health and social care and the development of new care initiatives.

Over the last few years CHSS have worked with the Scottish Government, professionals from clinical practice and academia, to develop and facilitate national training initiatives, both in face to face format and as electronic learning resources. CHSS are also involved in the design, development and dissemination of tools that allow learners to evidence the application of new knowledge and skills to their practice.

In March 2012 two of CHSS educational resources, Stroke Training and Awareness Resources (STARs) and the Stroke Competency Toolkit (SCoT), were added as examples of good practice to theĀ NES patient safety educational scenarios
