We are recruiting for the post of Health Defence Coordinator, who will be integral in delivering our new and exciting Health Defence Programme. They will be supported by and work closely with the Health Defence Lead and wider team.

The vision for the CHSS Health Defence programme is to be the face of prevention, raising awareness of risk factors for our conditions and supporting behaviour change to modify risk factors. This work aligns closely to the Public Health Priorities for Scotland.

The Health Defence Coordinator will be responsible for the delivery of pilot 1 of the Health Defence programme based out of the CHSS Drumchapel Hub and wider Glasgow. This includes delivering health checks; healthy lifestyle workshops; and supporting lifestyle change to reduce the risk of our conditions in local communities, particularly where there is a high prevalence of health inequalities and deprivation. The successful candidate will also be expected to support the delivery of other CHSS Health Promotion activities if and when appropriate.

We are seeking an organised, motivated individual with good communication skills and who has experience in Public Health and an interest in health inequalities. Candidates must have an Allied Health Professional/First Level Nursing qualification or qualifications in Health Promotion/Public Health; and have evidence of continued professional development.

Access to a car is essential.

This post is fixed-term for 3 years and is subject to PVG clearance.
