Great Scottish Run Half Marathon
The Great Scottish Run half marathon will welcome over 15,000 runners of all abilities to the city of Glasgow. The course starts in the centre of the city, in George Square, and from there takes runners past a selection of Glasgow’s finest venues and buildings. As well as crossing over the River Clyde twice, runners will take a trip through Pollok Park and Bellahouston Park, before heading back for the grandstand finish on Glasgow Green. There will be drinks stations along the route, and even a run through shower at mile 8. And you’ll not be short of entertainment along the route which will include bagpipers, drumming bands, and other live music.
You’ll be lining up with 10,000 runners of all abilities at the Great Scottish Run 10k. This is the perfect way to see the stunning Glasgow sights, which include The Hydro, Pacific Quay and the McLennan Arch. The course, which is a shorter adaptation of the half marathon, takes runners on a tour of the River Clyde and before heading back towards Glasgow Green for the big finish.
Runners cross the Clyde on four occasions using the Kingston Bridge, Clyde Arc, King George Bridge and Glasgow Bridge. You’ll find a water station at 6km, and entertainment along the course includes a choir, bagpipers, and even a drumming band.
