About the Abseil
This unique challenge allows you to abseil (free-fall style, like the S.A.S.!) from the iconic Forth Rail Bridge. It’s a 165ft drop with a soft landing on the sandy beach below.
No previous experience is needed to take part: it’s suitable for everyone over 16 years of age, however, parental consent is required for those aged 16 & 17. Our team of highly skilled instructors will ensure you are equipped with everything you need to make your abseil safe and enjoyable. It’s a real adrenaline rush followed by a huge sense of achievement as your feet land on solid ground.
Access to the Forth Rail Bridge is only possible due to the generosity of Network Rail. We are delighted to work with them and Balfour Beatty to offer you this incredible opportunity to abseil from the bridge.
What we ask of you
We ask you to pledge to raise a minimum of £185 for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland, but the sky’s the limit! You pay just £21 of that to register, with the remainder payable on the day. You can, of course, use an online fundraising page to raise sponsorship, and your local fundraising advisor will be there every step of the way to help you meet and beat your fundraising target!
Why take part?
By taking part and fundraising for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland you will be supporting Scotland’s Health Charity. It is only with the help of amazing supporters, such as yourself, that we can provide vital services, support and advice to the 1 in 10 people affected by chest, heart and stroke illness in Scotland. Every penny you raise will truly make a difference!
