My name’s Robert. Last year I had a severe stroke. It has taken my ability to move easily and to talk. I was lucky enough to receive a thrombectomy - without it things could have been so much worse. Thrombectomy services in Scotland have been withdrawn and I need your help to change that.

600 stroke patients across Scotland will miss out on this procedure this year unless something changes.

Both myself and Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland won’t stand for this.  Sign our petition to get the Scottish Government to bring back thrombectomy in Scotland as a priority.

The scariest moment after my stroke was waiting to find out if I was able to receive this life-changing operation.  I feel like one of the lucky ones.

It’s time that all patients across Scotland get access to thrombectomy when they need it.

More about thrombectomy

Thrombectomy is a specialised procedure that involves physically removing blood clots from the brain after a stroke.

In 2017, only 13 people received this life-changing treatment – but as many as 600 would have benefited. This year no-one will receive a thrombectomy unless action is taken urgently, because the service has been withdrawn.
Help us change that and sign our petition.
