Transport Escort Volunteer

driver

Volunteer Transport Escorts are required to support service users to attend our services by helping them in the use of public transport and / or supporting a driver in the use of our own, or an externally provided, transport.

The role includes:

  • Going to service users' home
  • Assisting person to car / minibus / public transport
  • Supporting en route to VSS Group
  • May remain at group and undertake another supporting role
  • Returning service user to their residence
  • Supporting people who use a wheelchair

Your level of involvement is arranged to suit both partners as we require regular weekly escort volunteers, regular rota escort volunteers and relief escort volunteers who may be called upon to cover any unavailability of our regular team.

Often the only barrier to service users accessing our services is transportation and that is why escort volunteers are important to the service.
