In Inverness we have the award winning Coffee Shop. The aim of the Coffee Shop is to raise funds and maintain the high profile of the work of Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS) in the local community, to support a range of services which meet the needs of people who have chest, heart and stroke illnesses.

Coffee Shop Assistant

We are looking for people who are physically fit, reliable and caring with good communication skills. The level of involvement is arranged to suit as we require regular weekly volunteers, regular rota volunteers and relief volunteers who may be called upon to cover any unavailability of our regular team.

All necessary training will be provided by the charity and all volunteers will be supported by their coffee shop and the regional manager. The role includes

Food Service

  • make customers aware of the aims of CHSS
  • help set up food service area
  • meet and greet customers and make them feel welcome
  • take orders
  • explain healthy eating specialities
  • prepare order
  • fulfil order in accordance with food regulations

Coffee Shop Floor

  • set tables
  • clear and clean tables
  • remove dishes to stacking area
  • load dishwasher
  • unload dishwasher in designated areas
  • ensure floor area is clear and accessible
