Charity Shop — Volunteer Recruiter

This is an opportunity to support the organisation in the ongoing recruitment and retention of volunteers within our charity shops.To attract new volunteers and ensure that they are aware of the diverse roles for volunteers within the shop.

The role includes:

  • To liaise with the shop manager and regional support manager around the recruitment and retention needs of the shop.
  • To support the shop manager on interviewing prospective volunteers in line with CHSS procedures.
  • To use local knowledge and contacts to promote volunteering opportunities for the shop. For example using publicity material in local areas such as health centres, community centres, dentists etc.
  • To contact job centres, training agencies etc for potential volunteers or trainees.
  • To promote one volunteer recruitment day in the shop per annum with the support of the manager.
  • To contribute to the shop 6 month recruitment plan.
  • To assist with training and induction of new volunteers as required.
