Healthcare Improvement Scotland
Healthcare Improvement Scotland is a health body which aims to support healthcare providers in Scotland to deliver high quality, evidence–based, safe, effective and person–centred care; and to scrutinise those services to provide public assurance about the quality and safety of that care.

Managed Clinical Networks (MCNs)
These have been developed across Scotland to support a modern approach to improving health care and services in Scotland. Membership of MCNs is open to patients and carers, joining doctors, nurses, managers, therapists etc to improve chest heart and stroke care for local people.

National Advisory Committee for Stroke (NACS)
This organisation advise the Scottish Executive Health Department on all matters relating to stroke.
National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE)
This organisation is responsible for providing national guidance on promoting good health and preventing and treating ill health.
Royal College of Physicians (RCP)
This organisation sets the standards to which medical doctors work. Your view could improve the standards of treatment for the next patient.
Scottish Health Council
This organisation is responsible for making sure that patients and the public have the chance to give their own views to health boards which are properly taken into account to change the way that the health service cares for patients and the way services are delivered.
Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN)
This organisation sets the standards for healthcare treatment in Scotland. Your views could help to improve the quality of care for the next patient.

This organisation advises NACS on all matters relating to the development and support of Stroke MCNs.
Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC)
This organisation provides advice to NHS Scotland on medications. Your views could help to ensure that the best medications for treating your condition are made available in Scotland.
