Research And Funding

Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland funds vital medical research into every aspect of the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of chest heart and stroke illness.

Our current programme is worth over £600,000 a year, and is one of the largest charitably funded programmes in Scotland.

We are presently financing more than 30 major research projects in all of Scotland's leading hospitals and medical schools.

These range from investigations into the relationship between high blood pressure and coronary heart disease, to a new instant breath test designed to measure inflammation in the lungs, to improving and measuring the effectiveness of physiotherapy following a stroke.
