Our programme is one of the largest charitably-funded programmes in Scotland worth over £600,000 a year.

Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS) funds vital medical research into every aspect of the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of chest, heart and stroke illness.

Our current programme is worth over £600,000 a year, and is one of the largest charitably-funded programmes in Scotland.

We are presently financing more than 30 major research projects in all of Scotland’s leading hospitals and medical schools.

We particularly welcome applications from nurses and allied health professionals, and from areas outside the traditional centres of medical research.

CHSS does not fund research which uses animals.

2011 Peer Review Audit logoCHSS are fully accredited by the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC). We have been recognised by the AMRC for adhering to best practice guidelines for peer review in research.
