Introduction - who is the forum for?

The Scottish Stroke Nurses Forum (SSNF) is for registered nurses with an interest in stroke (events / conferences are open to other health professionals).

Aims of forum

  • To promote the essential role of nurses in stroke.

  • To share and develop knowledge, expertise and best practice.          

  • To incorporate research–based evidence into practice, and promote research to improve outcomes.

  • To help develop core competencies, education and training initiatives for stroke nurses.

  • To advise and influence the provision of stroke nursing services, which impinge on patient care and carers at local and national level.

Scottish Stroke Nurses Forum Conference 2012
'BACK TO THE FUTURE'
Thursday 20th September 2012 at the Dewar's Centre, Perth.

The programme explores what the future holds for stroke care and stroke nursing. Will we be replaced by robots? Will we deliver rehabilitation through the TV set? Can we implant a new brain? And what does the future hold for stroke research?

It is open to all interested health and social care professionals. There is also an exhibition and posters.

How to join SSNF

Membership is free. Joining is easy, simply download the above flyer, complete the membership enquiry form and return to the SSNF Secretary (details below). Your details will then be held on a secure membership database.
As a member you will receive regular mailings and invitations to participate in related research studies. Members are required to update their details periodically to renew their membership.
