Conquer the Seven

Run, Jog, Walk, Orienteer or Mix it up!

Sunday 12th October 2008

Built around the famed "Seven Hills" the City of Edinburgh is renowned for its steep streets and its winding closes. A city that many visit but few really see.

"Conquer the Seven" is a new and rewarding way for you to experience the whole of the city.

By taking up one of our challenging 14 mile routes (or slightly easier 8 mile routes) through the city you will climb more than 2200 feet - that's half of Ben Nevis!

Do it your way

Fancy an endurance hill run to challenge the sturdiest of legs? A gentler jog for the first time hill runner perhaps? Or maybe walking the 7 hills is challenge enough? Why not try leaving our guided maps behind and orienteer around the hills? Or you could mix it up! Which ever way you do it - family day out or personal challenge - enjoy the hills of Edinburgh.
This event is open to all ages and abilities, so bring friends, colleagues, even pets, along and take part in this mix of rugged ascents and urban orienteering.

The course

The course starts in Holyrood Park, within the largest and most impressive of Edinburgh’s hills - Arthur’s Seat. We will provide runners and walkers with maps. Orienteer enthusiasts are welcome to go it alone.

There are many ways of walking, but each route is between 8 & 14 miles long and offers stunning views of the city, as well as some hidden sights you may never have seen. This is your chance to really explore the city of Edinburgh.

We will also have marshals at the half way point to provide you with refreshments.

Walk Your Way

There is no set time limit for the walk and no charge for taking part. All we ask is that you raise sponsorship to help people with chest, heart & stroke illness.
