Lowland Canals Cycling Challenge
May / June 2009
The cycle takes place every year between Glasgow and Edinburgh following the path of the Forth & Clyde and Union Canal visiting the Falkirk Wheel on the way.
Cycling is a fun way to get fit and to enjoy yourself exploring parts of the countryside you may not have visited before.
The tow paths of the Forth & Clyde and Union Canals make a traffic free ride of fifty miles, suitable for all ages and levels of fitness – but still a real challenge!
Safety
Should you have a problem or have to give up for any reason, we will have a marshal cycling at the back as well as a vehicle following the route by road. You should bring a puncture repair kit, and our cycling marshal can help with minor repairs.
(Participants under sixteen should be accompanied by an adult: those under eighteen riding alone will need to complete the Parental/Legal Guardian’s Consent Form)
Register Interest
In 2008 we raised nearly £20,000 from the event with around 180 participants. To register your interest in the 2009 event or find out more information, fill in our online form, call us on 0845 450 2000, or email us on: events@chss.org.uk
