10K RUNS

Forth Road Bridge Pitreavie 10K – 8th August 2010

Pitreave A.A.C. 2009 will see the 7th year of this popular race over the infamous bridge. It's becoming ever more popular and spaces fill up long before race day. Do sign up early to avoid disapointment. For more details call or email Alison on 0131 225 4800. Register your interest.

Great Scottish Run, Glasgow - 5th September 2010

There are plenty of reasons to run but only one Great Great Scottish run (formerly the Fresh ‘N’ Lo 10K). Take part in Scotland’s largest mass participation sporting event and achieve something you maybe never thought was possible. The Great Scottish Run is the run for everyone – from seasoned runners who want to push to the limit, to the rest of us who would just like to get a bit fitter!

Gallovidian Dumfries 10K – 8th September 2010

A flat 10k in Dumfries and Galloway, well organised by Dumfries Border Harriers, that regularly attracts hundreds of entrants from across Scotland. For more details call or email Alison on 0131 225 4800. Register your interest.

River Ness 10K, Loch Ness - 3rd October 2010

"A Monster Race...running alongside the shores of the world's most famous loch."
This is a flat point-to-point route through the historic Highland capital of Inverness, past the Castle and along the banks of the picturesque River Ness. Participants are given goodie bags, medals and t-shirts, as well as having access to post-race food and water stations. With a marathon and 5K on the same day it is a real party atmosphere, with a festival and pasta party the night before making it an event not to be missed. HALF MARATHONS

The half marathon is a great length of run, and although it doesn’t take the commitment needed for a marathon, stamina and speed endurance are still crucial.

BUPA Great North Run, Newcastle – 19th September 2010

The world's biggest half marathon, the Bupa Great North Run, with over 52,000 participating in 2008. This is a point-to-point course that starts in Newcastle and finishes in South Shields. For more details call or email Alison on 0131 225 4800.

MARATHONS

A marathon is a huge challenge! Twenty six miles of pushing yourself to the limits. A marathon, although an achievable goal for many, is not to be taken lightly and will require serious training and mental preparation. Whether you have run marathons before or not, we can provide you with places in many events around the world and help you every step of the way with training programmes and fundraising. Are you ready for the challenge?

DRAM (Dundee Running Adventure Marathon) - TBC

Fancy a DRAM with a difference - a 26.2 mile rough and ready marathon course along the city's popular Green Circular cycleway. Taking in parkland, wooded areas, and a lengthy stretch along the northern banks of the River Tay, the route's mix of terrain has the potential to make for an adventurous day out. Baxters Loch Ness Marathon – 3rd October 2010

Recognised as one of the UK's leading marathons, the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon follows a spectacular point-to-point route through stunning Highland scenery, along the south-eastern shores of Loch Ness, and then crosses the River Ness to finish in Inverness Queens Park Stadium. All runners, friends and family are invited to the Baxters Pasta Party taking place the night before! 5K RUNS

A great distance for the complete beginner, couch potato, or the experienced race runner alike. There are a huge variety of 5Ks available across the country. Here are details on a couple of our most popular. Should you enter any online make sure to call Alison (0131 225 4800) to receive sponsor forms, t-shirts and training plans.

Do it 4 Charity 5k – Edinburgh TBC

Be part of the Do it 4 charity run series and take part in the Edinburgh event whilst raising funds for us. Over 5,000 people are expected to take part. The spirit of the event is 'taking part' not 'winning' so you can run, jog or walk - you decide! Register online - please remember to select Chest, Heart & Stroke from the pull down list. Big Fun Runs: Stirling, 10th July, Dundee 17th July, Edinburgh 25th July, Glasgow 24th July 2010

Run, walk or jog! All of the runs are 5K in length and will are people of all ages. Children under 13 can enter but must WALK the course and be accompanied by a paying adult. You can enter as an individual, or as part of a family or team from your office or sports club. The main focus of The Big Fun Run is to have fun whilst raising money for Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland. All Big Fun Runners will receive a 'Big Fun Run' Medal and a Goodie Bag. Baxters River Ness 5k – Loch Ness, 3rd October 2010

The popular 5K Fun Run is open to runners of all ages and abilities including wheelchair entrants and is part of the Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running. It follows a flat route along the River Ness before circling back to finish at Inverness Queens Park Stadium. Participants are given goodie bags, medals and t-shirts as well as having access to post-race food and water stations.
