Employee Involvement

Companies are increasingly committed to demonstrating corporate social responsibility (CSR) and Supported Volunteering is an excellent way of giving something back to your local communities as well as meeting business objectives and aims.

The CHSS Employee Volunteering Programme can support you to develop staff competencies, enhance job satisfaction and provide an effective opportunity to raise awareness of your brand and CSR agenda. We will work with your company to find an opportunity that meets your requirements and help tackle key social health issues.

For more organisational information please see The National Centre for Volunteering's Employee Volunteering Handbook

There are several ways this can work:

  • Team Challenges
  • Individual Volunteering
  • One-off assignments and secondments

Team Challenges

Team challenges give employees a chance to work together and apply their efforts to a new challenge or event outside the normal working environment. As well as providing the chance for team building we can offer a challenge that helps raise much needed funds to support our work.

Our in-house Team Challenges offer opportunities to fundraise whilst taking part in an exciting event such as Dragon Boat Racing or White Water Rafting. Or you could try some of the following ideas:

  • The 10 x 10 challenge – each employees has £10 and has 10 months to increase its value – they can do this on an individual basis or work as a team to do so
  • Design a retail campaign – work with our local retail managers to design an in store campaign
  • Trade up for CHSS – What can you do with £1000, one team and one year?

Individual volunteering

Many organisations now encourage their staff to volunteer within the local community or in some cases allocate them an annual allowance of time so that employees can use it to undertake voluntary work. CHSS always has opportunities for individual volunteers to help at some of our events, work in our offices supporting the administration teams or even giving time to work in one of our retail shops.

If you would like to discuss how a partnership like this can work for your organisation please contact us on corporate.relations@chss.org.uk or call us on 0131 225 4800 now.

We look forward to working with you soon!
