Cardiovascular disease: a guide to primary prevention in Scotland
This cardiovascular disease (CVD) guide is a report on behalf of the Heart Health National Learning Network. It was produced to support the Scottish Executive's 2002 recommendation from their National CHD and Stroke Strategy that “all NHS Boards should, through their local Managed Clinical Networks, develop explicit CHD and stroke prevention strategies by December 2004." Although the guide specifically relates to preventing CVD, it may also be of use to those involved in wider health improvement and local health improvement planning.

Cardiovascular Disease: A Guide to Primary Prevention in Scotland
In 2002 the Scottish Executive launched their National CHD and Stroke Strategy. The first recommendation is that “all NHS Boards should, through their local Managed Clinical Networks, develop explicit CHD and stroke prevention strategies by December 2004."
This cardiovascular disease (CVD) guide was produced to support this process. Although the guide specifically relates to preventing CVD it is important to note that it may also be of use to those involved in wider health improvement and local health improvement planning.
