BACR Phase IV Exercise Instructor Training
Equips students with the knowledge and skills to prescribe and deliver safe, effective exercise for individuals with coronary heart disease who have already benefited from a hospital based rehabilitation programme.
Hosted at various venues across the UK on an annual basis hosted by the British Association of Cardiac Rehabilitation (BACR).
The course involves 5 study days and 100 hours independent study, written presentation of one case study, viva / multiple choice examination.

Principles of Acute Cardiac Management – 20 Credits At Masters Level
This course encourages students to reflect on how acute cardiac care is integrated into processes of service delivery to both sustain life and maintain dignity. By integrating the evidence from research into clinical practice students are encouraged to benchmark practice to the holistic needs of the acutely ill cardiac patient and their family. Clinical Assessment in Chronic Heart Failure—20 points at Level 3
This module aims to prepare the practitioner for more autonomous roles and so enhance the care of the patient with Chronic Heart Failure. The course is designed to assist you to make a prompt and accurate assessment of the presenting patients and their condition, recognise your own professional knowledge and experience with the presenting condition (scope of practice). Providing Supportive / Palliative Care For Patients With Advanced Heart Failure
20 credits at SCQF9 or SCQF11
This module has been specifically designed to encourage all health and social care professionals develop advanced knowledge, communication and clinical decision making skills that are required for the application of appropriate management strategies in relation to patients and carers living with advanced heart failure disease.
