Introductory Course (Part 1; 3 days)
This course is suitable for all members of the multi-disciplinary team, from both health and social care, who would like to gain new knowledge or enhance/update their current knowledge on issues related to stroke care. The course is carried out over 3 days and each participant is expected to complete a small reflective exercise prior to the follow up day. The course investigates the main issues surrounding stroke care and the role of each professional in providing that care.
Intermediate Course (Part 2; 3 days)
This course follows on from the introductory course and the issues are covered in more detail. This course is particularly useful for professionals who have completed the introductory course and wish to consolidate or enhance their knowledge base. This is also a 3 day course with an experiential exercise to complete prior to the follow -up day.
Social Services Study Day
This day offers members of the multi-disciplinary team working in the social services area a 1 day course that covers the main areas of stroke care relevant to the area of work. This course is particularly useful for those who care for clients who have had a stroke.
Advanced Days
These single study days are aimed at experienced health or social care professional working with stroke and/or those who have completed the introductory and intermediate courses. These days vary in their content depending on local need and resources.
Community Days
These single study days are designed to meet the needs of community staff and the content will vary depending on local need and resources.
